The Carondelet Branch, which underwent $3.3 million in restoration, now features a restored and renewed interior, updated computers and technology, updated collections, an elevator and ADA-compliant restrooms, additional parking, and a new entrance.
The Carondelet Branch will resume regular hours on Monday, June 18. Branch hours are Mondays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m.; and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Carondelet Branch renovation is the latest in the St. Louis Public Library's series of capital improvement projects funded by a property tax increase approved by St. Louis voters in 1994. The plan calls for major renovations at every library location, including Central Library, which is nearing completion of its $70 million restoration and is on schedule to reopen Dec. 9, 2012.
