The Magic House has teamed up with the St. Louis Rams to create a new fitness-themed exhibit at the museum. Opening Friday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m., the St. Louis Rams Training Center includes activity stations that build the skills all athletes need on the playing field and the playground: agility, balance, endurance, flexibility, strength and velocity.
A highlight of the exhibit is a state-of-the-art football simulator, where kids can throw real footballs to virtual receivers or kick a field goal through on-screen uprights and see their stats displayed on a scoreboard. Suited up in team colors of blue and gold, the St. Louis Rams Training Center also features a locker room displaying real Rams equipment, an official uniform and snacks that players use to fuel up before a big game.
The museum is kicking off the new exhibit with a tailgate party and game-day Fitness Fun Friday on Friday, Sept. 7, from 4-8 p.m., complete with special guests from the St. Louis Rams. The event is free with museum admission, but kids 14 and under can score free entrance by completing a fitness challenge posted on the museum's website.
The Magic House's partnership with the St. Louis Rams demonstrates a shared commitment to children's health; to "Play 60," the NFL's campaign to tackle childhood obesity and encourage kids to be active for one hour every day; and to "Good to Grow," an initiative of the Association of Children's Museums to help children improve food choices, increase physical activity and reduce screen time.
