Historic Main Street in St. Charles has always had some great dessert destinations, but a new soda fountain has made the street even sweeter. Little O's Soda Shop opened on Thursday, Aug. 23, and features old-fashioned ice cream treats and hand-mixed sodas.
Soda flavors include classics like root beer and vanilla, and 10 other flavors like blueberry, pineapple and banana. Cream sodas and marshmallow sodas are also available as are ice cream floats.
If you're looking for something more decadent, however, belly up to the soda shop bar for a Big O or Little O sundae. These ice cream treats are named after husband-and-wife owners Christi Ozenkoski, "Little O," and Brent Ozenkoski, "Big O." They're made using a base of peanut butter or original Ozenkoski Gooey Butter Cakes, baked by Brent's father, Bill Ozenkoski, who previously ran Ozenkoski's Bakery in St. Peters. Gooey butter cake shakes are also available.
