St. Louis dancers will have the opportunity to learn alongside the legendary Rockettes when they travel to St. Louis. The one-day class is Nov. 18 at Downtown Dance Center (916 Olive St., St. Louis, Mo., 63101).
The Rockettes Master Class, a Rockettes Experience, is a unique chance for local dancers, ages 13 and up, to learn the precision technique and signature choreography that has made the Rockettes national icons. The class is an intensive one-day opportunity for aspiring dancers in the intermediate to advanced level with experience in ballet, jazz and tap to study under the direction of the Rockettes. The program includes seven hours of comprehensive training, the chance to learn the signature Rockettes kickline and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers choreography, Q&A session with an inside look at what it takes to become a Rockette, including important tips on how to successfully audition. Participants also receive a commemorative warm-up jacket and a photo opp with the Rockettes. The class is $365.
The Rockettes will be in St. Louis this November to perform the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular" at the Peabody Opera House. This year, the Christmas Spectacular will celebrate the Rockettes' return to their birthplace in St. Louis, commemorating a legacy spanning more than eight decades.
