Families can create their own storybook as they explore The Magic House using a new iPhone, iPod and iPad application. The free app takes visitors on a scavenger hunt through the museum while creating a personalized digital picture book along the way.
The app directs users through a suggested list of exhibits as they create storybook pages with pictures taken on their own device. Users can add text about their visit and adjust the pages to customize their family's experience. Families can relive the fun they shared together by reading their very own Magic House story again and again and by sharing with friends. Through this unique app, visitors can also stay up to date on the museum's events and exhibits.
The Magic House app can be downloaded for free in the iTunes Store. The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. The app requires iOS 5.0 or later.
The app was created in partnership with the museum's education, marketing and technology advising committees as an additional way to encourage interaction between parents and their kids and the exhibits in the museum.
