A renovated exhibit at The Magic House is giving kids the opportunity to serve up their own pretend slice of pizza pie. The grand opening of the Farm Fresh Pizza Parlor is Sept. 29.
Located in The Magic House's Children's Village, the pizza parlor exhibit is a mini restaurant where kids can create a bake a pizza and serve it up to their friends and family. Kids will also have the opportunity to learn about where food comes from (especially pizza) and find out interesting facts about family farms. Kids can watch their pizza ingredients grow in the Pizza Garden located outside of the Education Center. This circular raised bed is sectioned off in wedges like a pizza with each "slice" featuring a different pizza ingredient, such as onions, tomatoes, wheat, basil and green peppers.
Join in the celebration of the renovated pizza parlor exhibit on Saturday, Sept. 29 when the museum is hosting a Fall Farm Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes pizza samples, the opportunity to meet real farmers (and live farm animals!) and participate in agricultural projects.
The Magic House is at 516 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, Mo., 63122. Call 314-822-8900.
