Perched in Frontenac, The Nest was founded by Christina McHugh to provide a female-focused venue that meets the needs of families. The Nest encompasses a breakfast and lunch cafe with ample seating areas, onsite childcare, a play space, an adults-only tea room and two rooms for fitness and wellness programs, parent-child classes, birthday parties and other special events.
The menu features items designed especially for children, such as a baby bento box, fruit skewers, and kids meals including The Egg and Bacon Bunny, and a PB and Banana Toast Teddy Bear. For moms and dads, a gourmet menu is available with hardy breakfasts, salads, soup, sandwiches, pasta and fish and veggie tacos. All items on head chef Chris Vommund's menu can be made gluten-free. The Nest's High Tea Happy Hour is offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m.
Kids' meals come with an indoor play pass that gives little kids access to the Indoor Treehouse and Play Forest, a climbing and play area with a slide, swing, basketball toss, scooters and other toys.
Beginning, Dec. 17, classes for both parents and kids will be available Tuesday through Saturday and include special play times, dance, yoga, infant massage, parenting and fitness. See the complete class schedule on The Nest's website.
Memberships are available to the Nest, which include member's only Sunday Brunch, two free classes a week, unlimited play in play forest and drop-in childcare.
