The I-70 Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge is slated to open to vehicle traffic on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. But before it does, several pedestrian events have been planned.

Conquer Your Fear of Bridges Ride Criss-cross the Mississippi multiple times as you ride your bicycle on four different bridges: the new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge, the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, the McKinley Bridge and the Eads Bridge. Independently walk, run or ride on the bridge Take a leisurely stroll on the bridge beginning at noon, when the bridge opens to pedestrian traffic, followed by a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. and a parade at 3 p.m.
The I-70 Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge will open to vehicle traffic on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. The $229.5 million bridge is one of 37 projects that make up the $700 million New Mississippi River Bridge project which moves I-70 off the Congressman William L. Clay Sr. Bridge/Poplar Street Bridge. Construction on the project started in February 2010. The project will help improve safety and reduce congestion on the Congressman Clay Sr. Bridge.
