Four young adult authors will make appearances at St. Louis County Library Headquarters during the first week of April: Melissa de la Cruz, Eoin Colfer, Jonathan Stroud and Ridley Pearson.
De la Cruz will discuss and sign her historical book, "The Ring and the Crown" on Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m. “The Ring and the Crown” is the first in a new alternate history fantasy series, packed with royal politics, shocking betrayals, forbidden affairs and uneasy alliances. De la Cruz is the author of many bestselling novels, including the popular Blue Blood series and “Witches of East End,” which premiered this fall as a television series on Lifetime and has just been renewed for a second season.
Colfer, Stroud and Pearson will appear together on Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Join Colfer, Pearson and Stroud for a discussion about writing fantastical, adventure-seeking fiction for young readers. Author of the sensationally popular Artemis Fowl series, Eoin Colfer will discuss his new W.A.R.P. series, a wickedly smart science fiction series featuring a wormhole time machine, a teen FBI agent, and a magician turned assassin. Jonathan Stroud, creator of the bestselling Bartimaeus mythology trilogy, presents his new paranormal series Lockwood & Co., about a ghost detective agency. St. Louis favorite, Ridley Pearson presents the seventh installment in his Kingdom Keepers series, a collaborative project written through feedback from his fans around the world.
All events are free and open to the public. Books for signing will be available at the event from the Left Bank Books. Library Headquarters is located at 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, Mo., 63131. Call 314-994-330 or visit the library website for more information.
