Sept. 30, 2010 -- The new Forest Park App, available at the iTunes App Store, is helping park-goers navigate the 1,293-acre park.
The App provides navigational information, including street and path maps, information about park attractions, and it highlights places to eat or rest, according to a Forest Park Forever news release.
"The best part of the story is that Paradigm New Media Group developed the App out of love for Forest Park," said Lucie Springmeyer, senior vice president of Forest Park Forever. "They are a group who regularly bike, run and play in Forest Park and wanted to have a map in their pocket. They came to us with it as a prototype and will be donating 20 percent of proceeds to Forest Park Forever."
Paradigm New Media Group and Forest Park Forever intend to add additional information and updates to the App, Springmeyer said.
Forest Park Forever was founded in 1986 to restore, maintain and sustain Forest Park as one of America’s great urban public parks, for the enjoyment of all, now and forever. Over the past decade, more than $94 million has been invested in the park's restoration.
