After delays prevented the pool from opening in 2013, the Timbers of Eureka outdoor aquatic facility will open for the first time at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24.
A grand opening celebration is planned for noon to 3 p.m. on May 24, and will include food, music, games and giveaways.
The outdoor aquatic area features two pools, a lower pool and an upper pool. The lower pool has a zero-depth entry and will includes tot play area with two slides, and a lazy river. The upper pool has three lap lanes and a one-meter diving board. Additionally, a two-story waterslide empties near the upper pool.
Eureka is offering group and private swimming lessons, morning lap swim and pool rentals.
Daily pool admission for Eureka residents is $7 for adults, $6 for ages 3-17 (kids 2 and under are free), and $5 for adults 60 and over. For nonresidents, daily admission is $9 for adults, $8 for ages 3-17, and $7 for adults 60 and over. Memberships to the Timbers recreation facility and pool are available.
