The St. Louis County Library Foundation's Reading Garden Event Series presents a special night with "Glee" star and young adult literary sensation Chris Colfer Tuesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Reading Room at Library Headquarters. Author of the Land of Stories series, Colfer will discuss and sign the latest installment, "The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning."
Chris Colfer is a No. 1 New York Times bestselling author and Golden Globe-winning actor. He was honored as a member of the TIME 100, Time magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and his books include "Struck By Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal," "The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell," and "The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns." In addition to his work as a published author, Colfer is also known for his portrayal of Kurt Hummel on "Glee," which garnered him several awards. Colfer also wrote, produced and starred in the film adaption of his novel, "Struck By Lightning."
Colfer's "The Land of Stories" series brings readers on a thrilling quest filled with magic spells, laugh-out-loud humor, and page-turning adventure. In "A Grimm Warning," Conner and Alex Bailey must join forces with their friends and enemies to save the Land of Stories. But nothing can prepare them for the coming battle...or for the secret that will change the twins' lives forever.
General admission is $18 and includes one copy of "the Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning." Children's admission (for those 12 and under) is $18 and includes one adult admission, but only one book will be included. An adult may accompany more than one child but each child will need his or her own ticket. Tickets go on sale June 16 and can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early arrival is highly recommended. The program will include a brief Q&A and a book signing. Additional books will be available for purchase at the event. Each ticket holder can purchase up to eight copies of "The Land of Stories" books to be autographed — two of which can be older books in the series.
