Rendering of College Meadows Park, slated to open by the end of 2014
St. Charles County and St. Charles Community College are developing a new 80-acre park on the college campus, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville, MO, 63376. College Meadows Park, as it will be called, will feature a fitness trail and disc golf course.
The community is invited to attend the groundbreaking at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18. Local leaders will announce details about the new development and partnership between the parks department and the college.
"Together, we're breaking new ground to offer the community something different and unique on the undeveloped college property," said Parks Director Bettie Yahn-Kramer.
The park will feature a paved outdoor fitness trail with 10 pieces of exercise equipment, including a fitness machine accessible to those in wheelchairs. The fitness trail will connect to other paved walkways and trails on the campus and at nearby greenways. The 9-hole disc golf course winds through park meadows and will feature concrete tee pads and professional Mach V Disc Golf Baskets.
College Meadows Park is expected to open by the end of 2014.
