Hidden Valley is adding a double Riblet chairlift to the beginner ski area on Skid Row, just in time for opening day. The new lift will replace the rope tow and improve the skiing experience for first-time skiers.
The chairlift originated from a ski area in Wolf Creek, CO. It was purchased by Pagosa Springs, CO, to use in a municipal park. When plans fell through, Hidden Valley purchased the lift and has spent time re-engineering and rebuilding it for the beginner slope.
"We are excited to be able to offer the new ski lift on the beginner slope," said Bill Brandes, general manager of Hidden Valley. "We have spent the off-season making refinements all around Hidden Valley to create a more enjoyable and safer experience for skiers."
The ski resort plans to open by late December, provided weather conditions are conducive for making snow.
Hidden Valley Ski Resort is located at 1740 Hidden Valley Drive in Wildwood, MO. Get the snow report by calling 636-938-6999. For more information and updates on the opening date for the 2014-15 season, call 636-938-5373 or visit the website at www.hiddenvalleyski.com.
