Sponsored by the National Park Trust, Kids to Parks Day celebrates local, state and national parks with a day of fun family activities throughout the country. Those that visit kidstoparks.org and pledge to attend will be eligible to win a Nikon COOLPIX L830 camera. The website also offers resources to encourage families to explore the science, nature and history that can be found in local parks.
"Five years ago, NPT launched this grass roots movement to encourage families to discover and celebrate our country's parks and public lands and water," said Grace Lee, executive director of the National Park Trust. "Families, schools, park officials and elected officials have embraced this fun event – a national day of outdoor play – and it is fast becoming America's unofficial kick off to summer."
