Powered by a wind stream created by a fan, passengers at Kinetic Body Flight can levitate, turn and change positions, all while being pushed higher into the air. Flight instructors ensure that passengers stay between 1 and 6 feet in the air during flight. Visitors wear a flying suit, glasses, a hairnet and helmet, and noise-reducing earplugs throughout the experience.
Passengers must be at least 4 years old and weigh more than 40 pounds to participate. A 10-minute series of warm-up exercises is required before taking flight. The attraction was made possible by a partnership between Chesterfield Parks, Recreation and Arts; and Aerodium STL.
Kinetic Body Flight is open Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10 pm; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $40 Mondays through Thursdays and $45 Fridays through Sundays, and includes gear, training and 1.5-minutes of flight. Each additional minute of flight is $22. Flights are cancelled during thunderstorms. Call 314-667-8382 for more information.
