St. Louis County Parks announced completion of a new recreation center, The Pavilion at Lemay, located in Jefferson Barracks Park. The Pavilion at Lemay includes a new outdoor aquatic center that features a lap pool, lazy river, spray pads, tube slide, climbing wall, diving boards, a plunge pool and a play structure for toddlers.
The outdoor aquatic center will be open through Labor Day Mondays-Fridays, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sundays noon to 6 p.m. Note that the hours will change in mid-August. Admission to the pool is $5 for adults and $4 for children and seniors.
The Pavilion at Lemay also houses a 42,000-square-foot multipurpose athletic center with fitness equipment, a walking track, weights, space for fitness classes and more. Hours for the indoor athletic center are Mondays-Thursdays, 6:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Fridays, 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sundays, noon-6 p.m. Admission to the indoor recreation center is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Annual membership passes are available.
The project was funded by Pinnacle Entertainment and bonded funds from the Port Authority. The facility was originally to be built on the north edge of Jefferson Barracks Park but was moved to the Grant's Shelter site due to geotechnical issues.
