With more than 1,300 acres to discover and explore, Forest Park is a popular destination for families looking for a day of history, culture, fishing, hiking, picnics, bicycle rides and more. But inevitably, all family outings lead to the same question: Where is the nearest restroom? A new app from Forest Park Forever makes it easier than ever to navigate the park and its many attractions.
Forestparkmap.org is designed to help visitors plan their trip to Forest Park as well as assist with navigating while in the park itself. This free multi-platform web app uses GPS technology to help guests determine where they are within the park and create a map to where they’d like to go. Forestparkmap.org can be accessed from any device by entering the URL in the browser; no passwords are required.
It also provides contact information, hours and an overview for more than 100 destinations found within the park. In one central location visitors can get the hours for the Saint Louis Zoo, read about the history of the Missouri History Museum, map a route from the Boathouse to the Saint Louis Art Museum or find the perfect spot for a quiet picnic.
“We know that visitors are highly interested in getting help navigating Forest Park and experiencing everything this vast destination offers,” said Stephen Schenkenberg, Strategic Communications Director of Forest Park Forever. “Forestparkmap.org takes an incredible amount of information — Park history, details about hundreds of destinations — and puts it in the palm of your hand.”
Forest Park Forever is dedicated to restoring, maintaining and sustaining Forest Park. For more information call 314-367-7275.
