Teens looking for summer employment can start their job search this winter at upcoming events at Six Flags St. Louis and the Saint Louis Zoo.
Six Flags will host open auditions for street characters, show characters and show hosts Saturday, Feb. 13. Singers, dancers and actors may audition Saturday, Feb. 27. Registration begins in the Palace Theatre at 8 a.m. and auditions begin at 9 a.m.
An online application must be completed in advance. Applicants must be at least 16 at the time of auditions. Those auditioning must be available all day and should be prepared to learn some choreography. Costume fitting will also be required the day of the event. Saint Louis Zoo will host job fairs Saturday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in The Living World at the zoo’s North Entrance. The zoo is currently hiring for part-time seasonal work in spring, summer and fall, as well as immediate openings this winter. The zoo offers flexible weekday and weekend scheduling to accommodate students ages 15 and up with a work permit.
Types of positions available at the Saint Louis Zoo include engineers and conductors for the Zooline Railroad, food service, gardeners and groundskeepers, retail, parking lot attendants and more. Business casual attire is suggested for those attending the fair; some screening interviews will be offered.
