Restless families looking for a place to splash and play during the winter months will soon have another option. The City of Bridgeton will cut the ribbon on a new recreation center Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. The new facility will include an indoor aquatic center, which features a flume slide, a play structure for children, a lazy river, zero-depth entry and on-deck showers. The new pool will offer swim lessons, lifeguard training, aquacize programs, tot times and birthday parties.
The new, 53,000-square-foot Bridgeton Recreation Center will also include on-site childcare called “The Beehive,” an indoor track, an expanded fitness center and an aerobics studio. The $15 million facility replaces the Bridgeton Community Center, and sits near the old facility in Gentry Park. Visitors are invited to stop by the new recreation center from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, for free tours of the new facility and a chance to win prizes, including a free one-year adult membership. Guests will also be able to register for classes during the grand opening.
Daily admission for nonresidents is $7 for youth/seniors and $8 for adults ($4 for resident youth/seniors and $6 for resident adults). Annual household memberships for nonresidents are available for $600 ($300 for residents). Bridgeton residents and those who had passes to the former Bridgeton Community Center may visit the new Bridgeton Recreation Center for free Sunday, Jan. 24-Friday, Jan. 29.
Bridgeton Recreation Center is located at 4201 Fee Fee Rd., Bridgeton, MO, 63044. For more information call 314-739-5599 or visit bridgetonmo.com.
