Shake Shack Founder Danny Meyer has announced plans to bring his popular reimagined roadside burger stand to St. Louis. St. Louis Shack, which will be located in Central West End near Forest Park, is expected to open in 2017.
Shake Shack got its start as a hot dog cart in Manhattan's Madison Square Park and has since grown to include numerous locations throughout New York City, down the East Coast, in Texas and Nevada and even overseas. Shake Shack specializes in burgers, hot dogs and shakes. A St. Louis native, Meyer shaped much of his original menu after the flavors of his hometown, particularly his homage to frozen custard and concretes.
Shake Shack follows a “Stand for Something Good” principle, which includes use of 100-percent natural, antibiotic-free beef and ingredients from local purveyors. St. Louis Shack will be constructed using sustainable or recycled materials, including tables made from reclaimed bowling alleys in New York.
