Suson Park recently added a new member to its family of farm animals. Toby, a 5-year-old Suffolk Punch horse, will help with tasks on the working farm.
Toby is one of only about 600 Suffolk Punch horses in the country. Suffolk Punch is a breed that’s known for being docile and hard working. Toby has proven to be a quick study, having already completed eight weeks of training since arriving at the farm. He will assist with hauling manure and collecting brush after storms.
Toby was chosen to help with work around the farm after the current draft horse, Apollo, a 16-year-old Percheron, indicated that the work was becoming too difficult for him.
St. Louis County Parks invites the public to visit Toby and welcome him to the park. Suson Park is located at 6073 Wells Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63128. Admission is free.
