JUNE 22, 2011 -- Kevin James will greet fans at the Saint Louis Zoo for a red-carpet premiere of his new movie, "Zookeeper." The red-carpet premiere begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, on the zoo grounds by The Living World. The premiere includes local celebrities and even some animals from the Children's Zoo.
The Saint Louis Zoo is the only zoo in the country hosting a premiere on behalf of the film, and families are encouraged to come to the Zoo and share in the red-carpet festivities. The zoo is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the zoo is free.
In "Zookeeper," the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kind-hearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James). Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get a girl in his life is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job. The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk. To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style. The film also stars Rosario Dawson and Leslie Bibb and features the voices of Cher, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler, and Sylvester Stallone. "Zookeeper" opens nationwide on July 8, 2011.
