Independence Day without the bang
If your little ones can't stay up late or aren't quite ready for a noisy fireworks display, or if you're simply looking for a more meaningful way to commemorate the holiday, head to the Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 4 for presentations by rangers, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence and a concert by the Independence Band.
