The new five-story, 106,000-square-foot outpatient building will adjoin the existing St. Luke's Desloge Outpatient Center. The estimated completion of the new building will be in late 2016.
In addition to physician offices, the new building will offer expanded physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation services. St. Luke's Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Medicine services will move there from the hospital. There will also be a lab draw station, and St. Luke's Nutrition Wellness & Diabetes Center will expand by relocating there from St. Luke's Resource Center.
"The new facility will serve a vital need as our hospital and community continue to thrive," said Christine M. Candio, RN, FACHE, St. Luke's Hospital president and chief executive officer. "It will provide patients very convenient access to expanded outpatient services and even more excellent physicians on St. Luke's main campus. Additionally, relocating some offices to the new building will allow us to make room at the hospital for continued growth of inpatient services, as we continually seek ways to improve the quality of life for our patients and the community."
BSA LifeStructures Inc. is the architect, and McCarthy Building Companies Inc. is the construction manager. The building will be built to LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, green building standards.
