The Magic House visitors will soon be building, inventing and creating in the new Make-It Workshop, which opens Saturday, May 3.
This new permanent exhibit will be located next to the Art Studio on the same level as the member entrance. The hands-on exhibit will have a wide variety of crafting tools, so kids can engage in woodworking, embroidery, robotics and other inventive pursuits, said Carrie Hutchcraft, communications director at The Magic House. Kids can create circuits to power a light bulb, make robots, sew, create wire structures and build catapults, for example. Depending on materials used, kids may be able to take their creations home.
The exhibit is included with museum admission and is first-come, first-served. A grand opening celebration is happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, and FIRST robotics participants will be conducting demonstrations.
The Magic House is at 516 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, Mo., 63122. Call 314-822-8900.
