Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the story as they are whisked away on The Polar Express. Once onboard, hot chocolate and treats will be served as passengers read along with the classic children's book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers greet passengers at the North Pole and then board the train, where each child is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Chefs aboard each car lead passengers in singing Christmas carols on the ride back to St. Louis Union Station. Passengers are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride.
The journey begins Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, and runs through Dec. 28, 2014, on select dates. Exact dates, fares and excursion times are available by calling 314-942-6942, or by visiting www.STLPolarExpressRide.com. Ticket prices begin at $38 depending on date and class of service.
Union Station is decking the halls for the holidays, too. Visitors can stroll through a decorated Winter Wonderland and a holiday holographic light and music show.
St. Louis Union Station is at 1820 Market St., St. Louis, MO, 63103.
