Families can pick up a free child safety kit, including photos and digital fingerprinting, at Operation Kidsafe's Safety Week in Creve Coeur May 4-9.
The event, which is hosted by Weber Chevrolet, will provide parents with a free, personalized 8 ½ x 11" Safety Bio Document printout that can be given to law enforcement in case of an emergency. The information is recorded using digital video and a digital, inkless video fingerprinting device. Parents will also receive safety tips to help create a family safety action plan.
Families with children ages 11 and under and adults with special needs are encouraged to attend. The information gathered is confidential and the only record will be sent home with parents. Operation Kidsafe uses custom equipment similar to what is used by the FBI and Secret Service.
