Chesterfield Arts has announced plans to start with a blank canvas. Changes include a new name, Art Unleashed, and a new location at Hwy. 141 and Olive Boulevard. The new studio will be dedicated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, June 19 at 9 a.m.
Chesterfield Arts opened in 1995 to serve the community through art classes, community programs, literary events and more. It closed in 2014 to give the board of directors an opportunity to reevaluate the organization’s mission, and is now reopening with a focus solely on art education.
The new mission of the nonprofit is to encourage students of all ages and abilities to express themselves creatively through visual arts. Art Unleashed offers Kaleidoscope, a program for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Art Unleashed is also currently enrolling for classes in watercolor, acrylics, pottery and drawing. Future programs will include introductory classes in architecture, fashion design, interior design and high school portfolios.
Art Unleashed is located at 13379 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO, 63017. Call 636-627-7735 for more information. From the calendar
