Thanks to donations from the Earl E. and Myrtle E. Walker Foundation and the Edward Chase Garvey Foundation, the Children’s Library at Kirkwood Public Library is undergoing a transformation designed to provide early literacy and learning for local families.
Construction began earlier this month and is expected to be complete by spring. The updated Children’s Library is designed to be more interactive and provide activities, technology and materials for different age ranges.
During construction, the library’s meeting room will serve as the temporary home for the Children’s Room. Peepholes will be provided at kid’s eye view to allow children to watch as the space evolves. Patrons can also follow Kirkwood Public Library on Facebook and Twitter for regular updates.
Kirkwood Public Library is located at 140 E. Jefferson Ave., Kirkwood, MO, 63122. For more information, call 314-821-5770, ext. 1015.
