FEB. 11, 2011 -- OMG! As "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" opens in theaters today, Bieber Fever is at an all-time high.
Sprout CEO Beckie Maislin and her two 'tween daughters were at the sneak preview of the documentary on Feb. 9. Maislin describes the movie as slow, but said her daughters both loved it. Wednesday's preview was packed, and there was an excited buzz throughout the theater as the audience waited for the show to begin.
According to Paramount Pictures, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" is the inspiring true story and rare inside look at the rise of Bieber from street performer in the small town of Stratford, Ontario, to Internet phenomenon to global super star, culminating with a dream sold-out show at the famed Madison Square Garden. It is directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber, Antonio "L.A." Reid, Usher Raymond IV, Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz.
"It was interesting to see how he was discovered on YouTube and how he rose to fame. He truly is a self-made celebrity who has remained grounded by his family and religion," Maislin said. "It just felt like a long movie."
"Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" is rated G and opens in theaters throughout the St. Louis area today.
