The Humane Society of Missouri recently opened a new facility that will provide a more comfortable temporary home for pets waiting for a loving permanent home. The Best Buddy Adoption Center and Animal Medical Center of Mid-America in Maryland Heights provides animal housing, as well as one of the nation’s only Integrated Pain Management Centers.
Located at the intersection of Page Avenue and Schuetz Road, the facility is designed to be more visible and accessible to those who are interested in meeting and adopting a pet. The two-level, 44,000-square-foot building also features a welcoming, open design and double the pet capacity of the previous facility.
Those considering pet adoption can meet and greet adoptable pets in tempered glass Pet Penthouses, which are designed to minimize stress to pets, and interact in private Get Acquainted Rooms. Visitors can also pick up pet supplies, learn more about pet care and attend training classes and other educational programs.
