The City of St. Peters will soon break ground on a new outdoor aquatic center that was made possible by the passage of Proposition Q, a $12 million dollar bond approved by voters in August 2016.
The new outdoor aquatic center will be located next to the existing Rec-Plex South. The complex will include a leisure pool, a spray pad and a sport and lap pool. Anticipated features of the leisure pool include underwater benches, play features, slides and zero-beach entry. The spray pad area will also have a party pavilion on site that will be available for use during the non-pool season.
The separate sport and lap pool will have volleyball, basketball, aqua aerobics and lap lanes. The sport and lap pool will be available for rentals. City officials expect to break ground on the new aquatic center in July.
Prop Q will also help fund a new golf course clubhouse and banquet/community center in St. Peters, as well as the addition of a concession stand and expansion of deck space at Laurel Park pool. The existing Golf Course Clubhouse will undergo a reconstruction, along with an upgraded and expanded parking lot.
The building housing the clubhouse will include a 350-seat venue featuring banquet and meeting facilities that will be available for rental. Outdoor event space by the lake is also planned. The St. Peters Golf Course Clubhouse and new banquet/community center projects are expected to begin in October.
St. Peters Golf Course Clubhouse and Banquet/Community Center will be located at 200 Salt Lick Rd., St. Peters, MO.
