With so many exciting experiences waiting in the pages of your child’s favorite books, the trip to the library is always an adventure. Young readers visiting the renovated branch of St. Louis County Library’s Florissant Valley Branch will find even more to discover in the library’s new Discovery Zone, an entire floor dedicated to providing children with educational activities.
In the new area, sponsored by Emerson, kids can send scarves and balls through a pneumatic tube display to learn more about trajectory, create colorful designs on an interactive light wall and develop digital literacy skills using a large format touch screen. In the Early Explorers’ Area, small children can explore interactive literacy panels and a metal tube maze, or curl up with a great book in a reading nook. The renovated branch also features a designated space for teens, as well as private study rooms, a laptop bar and more.
The renovated Florissant Valley Branch opens Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. Renovations were made possible through the Your Library Renewed campaign. By the end of the year, 14 branches will have been renovated or replaced through the campaign.
