Single tickets are now on sale for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s 2017/18 season, which includes several performances that are sure to appeal to families.
Audiences can relive their favorite big screen moments through music at “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™” - In Concert, Sept. 15-17, 2017; “Jurassic Park,” Nov. 3-5, 2017; Music of John Williams, Dec. 21-23, 2017; DreamWorks Animation in Concert, Dec. 29-30, 2017; “North by Northwest,” Feb. 24-25, 2018; “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™”—In Concert, April 6-8, 2018; and as a special treat for Mother’s Day, Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” at the Symphony, May 12-13, 2018.
SLSO will spread holiday cheer for all to hear with several seasonal performances, including Gospel Christmas: A Soulful Celebration with Dianne Reeves, Dec. 14, 2017; the Mercy Holiday Celebration, Dec. 15-17, 2017; and a New Year’s Eve celebration Dec. 31, 2017.
Other highlights of the upcoming season include An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr., Dec. 3, 2017; music inspired by the works of George Michael, Pink Floyd and Elton John; and a full lineup of classical offerings.
For young audiences, SLSO offers a four-concert Family Series geared to children ages 5-12. This year’s series includes Athletes of the Orchestra, which introduces children to the symphony through sports-themed music; Rapped & Remixed, classical music with a modern twist; Pinocchio’s Adventures in Funland, a whimsical retelling of a beloved children’s tale; and A World of Make-Believe, featuring the works of composer John Williams. Family four-packs for all four concerts start at $120.
SLSO will also offer a free performance on Art Hill in Forest Park at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. A fireworks display will follow the performance.
