A new exhibit at HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum St. Louis takes visitors through the inner workings of the human heart.
MEGA Heart, a 26-foot-long, 15-foot-wide, 13-foot-high inflatable heart is designed to educate guests on Coronary Heart Disease using interactive activities. Guests enter through the right atrium and learn about cardiovascular functions, diseases and treatments, then exit through the aorta. The new exhibit was made possible by funding from the Jefferson Foundation and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum is one of only three children’s museums in the country dedicated to health education. The museum also features an accessible indoor playground designed to look like a human skeleton, several areas where kids can learn more about healthy living through role play and interactive theaters that teach children about proper oral care.
HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum is located at 1100 Macklind Ave., St. Louis, MO. Admission is $7 per person (free for ages 2 and under). Parking is free.
