Family Fun Series | 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 Missouri History Museum, Forest Park Visit the museum for a free storytelling program and craft. While you’re there, visit the new addition to the History Clubhouse and go backstage at America’s oldest and largest continuously operating outdoor theater at “Muny Memories: 100 Seasons Onstage.” Get the details.
Purina Farms | All day, Thursday, July 19 Gray Summit Spend a day exploring Purina Farms in Gray Summit. Learn pet care tips at the interactive “Better with Pets” Exhibit, watch cow-milking demonstrations and canine performances, take a wagon ride, play in the hayloft, visit the petting arena and more. Food Truck Frolic | 5 p.m., Friday, July 20 St. Charles Community College, Cottleville Grab dinner from the region’s top food trucks from 5-8:30 p.m. and then catch a free showing of “Sing.” Note that while the event and the movie are free, be sure to bring cash for concessions. Get the details.

Check out a musical instrument | All day, Monday, July 23 Various St. Louis County Library Branches If the free concert at the Saint Louis Art Museum has your family eager to make music together, check out an instrument for free from the St. Louis County Library. Four branches are offering free instruments (banjos, ukuleles, bongos and acoustic guitars), on a two-week loan. Checkouts include instructional music books and DVDs. Get the details.
Henry Shaw's 218th Birthday | 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, July 24 Missouri Botanical Garden The Missouri Botanical Garden will celebrate the birthday of founder Henry Shaw with free admission at the garden, as well as the Doris I. Schnuck Children's Garden, Shaw Nature Reserve and the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the garden will also host puppet shows, a stilt walker and more.
